ABOUT
Our Group

Keynsham Local Group is affiliated to Avon Wildlife Trust and holds evening meetings and organises field trips throughout the year to educate, encourage and enthuse, raising funds for the Trust along the way.

Where possible we attend community events and fairs to engage with the public, particular the younger generation.

OUR COMMITTEE
and Membership

We are organised by a committee comprising chair, two vice chairs, treasurer, secretary, field trips officer, publicity officer and minutes secretary.

We do not have a membership, as any member of the public may attend our events. However we hope that participants may consider supporting the work of Avon Wildlife Trust by becoming a member.

EVENING Meetings

Our monthly meetings comprise talks on interesting wildlife and conservation topics by a variety of speakers. Meetings are generally held on the second Friday of every month from October to April.

FIELD Trips

Our programme of field trips takes in local reserves and nature areas as well as trips further afield, to places such as RSPB Ham Wall, or Slimbridge. Every April our chair Dave Sage will take you on a Dawn Chorus along the River Avon and in September we hold our popular pond and river dipping events for children.
For more information on our field trips please contact our Field Trips Officer Liz Wintle

FUND Raising

Fund raising takes the form of sales of second hand books, bird food, greetings cards and various handmade items at our meetings plus donations for our field trips. We also occasionally organise fund raising talks, featuring prominent speakers, at The Space in Keynsham.
